| Burj Al Arab or Cristian Cross? |

 We all know the renowned Hotel in Duabi.. Burj al Arab was designed by Tom Wright of WS Atkins PLC, during the designing stage, the world was told that it was built to resemble a sail, but critics are claiming that Wright designed the cross after he had a dream to have a Christian influence in a Muslim country.Below is a gray scaled image which increases contrast so that it may be more visible.  Some locals claim that this was an intentional move on the part of the British architects. This issue is more ironic when one considers that the Tower of the Arabs is widely considered to be Dubai’s most important landmark. A Conspiracy indeed, but no words yet from the architect himself. The real question is, does it matter if it looks like a cross?
In the year 2001, Dubai introduced the 4th series number plate. It has the Burj al Arab symbol, due to conspiracy theories and controversies surrounding Burj Al Arab’s resemblance to the Christian cross, the Burj Al Arab symbol was removed without any explanation in the year 2004. An interesting story is told back to back which says that apparently any cars registered in Dubai, that have one of the older license plates which have an image of the Burj Al Arab on them, aren’t allowed to drive into Saudi Arabia.

Subscribe to this comment's feed| Well, suit the arab government in the UAE well! They are all about pomp and flare and likes to stoop to the west too much. If it's true, it's a mockery indeed. They are building first class condos and hotels that only the very rich can afford, and are allowing rich north americans and europeans to snap up their properties, the poor and middle class has no place in the UAE. | |

It is indeed a BIG mistake for our Arab brothers in Dubai being too complacent in their effort to achieve the world best in everything! so much so that our Arab brothers overlook the very aspects of our islamic aspiration in BURJ AL ARAB design to be grand BUT islamic BUT has been gravely aldulturated by CHRISTIAN DESIGNERS who have their own hidden agenda! It is not too late to alter the desigh by adding one or two similar horizontal structure below it! Save your faith and save you from Allah SWT wrath! We have done too many SINS of late by building BURJ AL ARAB and opening your country too free with western cultures and norms which has eroded usalim cultures and traditions. Astagafirullah! |
